Who are Arm's decision-makers?

Rene Haas became CEO in February 2022 following the departure of Simon Segars, who had spent 30 years at Arm. Haas joined Arm in 2013 as president of the IP Products Group after a career at Texas Instruments and NVIDIA, where he rose to VP and GM of Computing Products. He led Arm's preparation for the 2023 NASDAQ IPO, reorganized the business around AI-era verticals, and launched the AGI CPU program — Arm's first physical chip in 35 years — and the DreamBig acquisition that followed.

CFO Jason Child brings deep public-company finance experience, having served as CFO at Splunk and CFO of Amazon International. Chief Architect Richard Grisenthwaite is an Arm veteran who was the principal architect of ARMv6, ARMv8, and ARMv9 — the instruction sets underpinning Arm's royalty-rate expansion — and has led ISA development for more than 20 years. EVPs Mohamed Awad (Cloud AI), Chris Bergey (Edge AI), and Drew Henry (Physical AI) are the three business unit leaders driving the company's AI-era growth strategy across hyperscalers, mobile/edge, and automotive/robotics respectively.

The most operationally significant recent appointment is EVP Operations Eric Hayes (January 2025), who was brought in to coordinate end-to-end execution across multiple product lines and the AGI CPU silicon delivery program. Charlotte Eaton joined as Chief People Officer in November 2024, reporting directly to Haas and leading the global people strategy as headcount has grown from ~7,000 to ~9,600 in two years.

Arm's buying committee is distributed by function and business unit. Technology vendor decisions in infrastructure — cloud, data center tooling, security, observability — flow through the Cloud AI BU under Mohamed Awad and the centralized operations function under EVP Eric Hayes. Engineering tools, EDA software, and silicon development partnerships are owned by Richard Grisenthwaite's architecture team and the engineering leaders within each BU.

Marketing and demand-gen vendor decisions (CRM, marketing automation, events) run through the CMO function. Legal and M&A-related vendor decisions go through CLO Spencer Collins. For enterprise-scale contracts — security, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms — procurement reports into operations under Eric Hayes, with CFO Jason Child holding final sign-off authority on material commitments. Cambridge is the center of gravity for technical and architecture decisions; San Jose is the hub for North American commercial, Cloud AI BU activity, and hyperscaler relationships.

Arm reorganized its go-to-market in 2023–2024 around three AI-era business units: Cloud AI (data center, hyperscalers, CSPs), Edge AI (smartphones, PCs, IoT), and Physical AI (automotive, robotics, autonomous systems). Each BU operates with a dedicated engineering and commercial team under its EVP, giving Arm a more segmented and accountability-driven structure than its prior monolithic IP Products Group model.

The appointment of EVP Operations Eric Hayes in January 2025 signals a maturation of Arm's operational rigor — coordinating end-to-end execution across multiple product lines and silicon delivery as the AGI CPU program scales toward $15 billion in projected FY2031 revenue. Headcount grew from ~7,000 in FY2024 to ~9,600 in FY2026, with the largest growth in engineering support for the Cloud AI and Physical AI BUs and in operations as Arm transitions from a pure IP licensor toward a silicon vendor.
